In pragmatics (linguistics), deixis describes words or expressions whose reference relies absolutely on context.
Examples of deictic words: I, now, then, here, there.
One important concept in Deixis is "Origo". This is the place from where all the deictic words get their reference from - the point of view, so to say. This means that if I am speaking, my Origo is with me, so all deictic words have to be viewed from my point of view. If somebody else is speaking, the Origo is with them, and the words have to be interpreted accordingly.\n
