Eric V' "Glipping" (1249-1286) was King of Denmark (1259-1286), and Son of Christoffer I. Until 1264 he ruled under the auspices of his mother Margrethe Sambiria. He tried to enforce his power over the chrurch and nobility but was 1282 forced by the latter to write a law limiting his powers. The Margrave Stig was the de facto political leader of the Denmark in the following years until the Eric Glipping was assassinated in 1286 and the Margrave was outlawed as the murderer by the danish court.
