Genesis Power Limited is a New Zealand electricity generation and electricity retailing company. It was formed from the breakup of the Electricity Corporation of New Zealand (ECNZ) in 1999 as a result one of the reforms of the New Zealand Electricity Market and corporatised to become a state-owned enterprise with its own board of directors and Ministerial shareholders. The shareholders are the Minister of Finance and the Minister of State Owned Enterprises.

The company owns and operates hydroelectic generating stations on the Tongariro Scheme, namely Rangipo (120 MW) and Tokaanu (240 MW)and the Tuai, Kaitawa and Piripaua stations on Lake Waikarimoana (142 MW) as well as a thermal plant (1000 MW) on the Waikato River at Huntly. The company also has a windfarm and interests in small hydro and cogeneration schemes.

It is the largest combined gas and electricity retailer in New Zealand.
