Gosnold is a town located in Dukes County, Massachusetts. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 86, making it the least populous town in Massachusetts.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 363.0 km² (140.2 mi²). 34.6 km² (13.3 mi²) of it is land and 328.5 km² (126.8 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 90.48% water. It consists of a collection of small islands west of Martha's Vineyard.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 86 people, 46 households, and 21 families residing in the town. The population density is 2.5/km² (6.4/mi²). There are 215 housing units at an average density of 6.2/km² (16.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 95.35% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 4.65% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
