Songwriters: George Clinton, Junie Morrison, Bernie Worrell
Memorable Lyrics:
- "Funkadelica is/You know, the nation,/Uh, you know, I would like to, live under"
- "Pledge a groovallegiance to the funk/The United Funk of Funkadelica"
- "Let me take you by the hand/And spread the funk across the land/It's not hard to understand/Headin' for the master plan..."
This is particularly notable for the introduction of the fictional country of Funkadelica, which can be seen as a version of the United States wherein Funk runs the country (see also P Funk mythology). With Funk crossing the land, the inhabitants minds (and, presumably, their booties) have been freed.
