Hypospadias and epispadias are forms of abnormal development of the urethra in the male, where the urethral opening is malformed or misplaced.

In hypospadias, the urethral meatus is placed lower than normal. A chordee is when the urethra develops between the penis and the scrotum.

In epispadias, the urethral meatus occurs on the top surface of the penis, or the urethra is open along the top of the penis.
