Madhya Pradesh is a state in central India. It was originally the largest state in India. On November 1, 2000, the state of Chhattisgarh was carved out. Its capital is Bhopal.

It is bordered on the west by Gujarat, south by Maharashtra, east by Chhattisgarh, northwest by Rajasthan, and northeast by Uttar Pradesh.

Major cities include: Indore, Jabalpur and Gwalior.

Tourism: Khajuraho, Sanchi, Panchmari, Mandav, Ujjain

The predominant language of the region is Hindi.
