Mary Dorothy (Perry) Christian (June 12, 1889-April 20, 2003) was born in Massachusetts to parents whose name had been Anglicized from Perreira.
She spent much of her life in California,where she died in a San Pablo nursing home. She became the oldest person in the United States on the December 2002 death of Mae Harrington and was in turn succeeded by Elena Slough.
