Pat Metheny was born in 1954 in Lee's Summit, Missouri. He is the son of Dave and Lois Metheny, born second to his five years older brother Michael. He first played the guitar when he was 13 years old in Kansas City, Missouri. His band, the Pat Metheny Group, was formed in 1978. Pat's music suffers a lot of influences from other cultures. In particular he has had influences from Brazilian Music. He has lived in Brazil and performed with several local musicians such as Milton Nascimento and Toninho Horta. This article is a stub.
