Sandown is a town on the Isle of Wight, England.

It is most notable for its cliffs where a number of unusual ant species live, including the semi-myrmecophillous Solenopsis fugax (Latr.), which was recorded there several times by Horace Donisthorpe.

Ponera coartata has also been taken from this location.
