Shake is an image-compositing package used in the post-production industry for film visual effects. It enables complex image processing sequences to be designed by the connection of effects nodes in a flow graph in a graphical interface. It is a "2D" package in contrast to 3D approaches such as AliasWavefront's Maya because 2D images are manipulated rather than 3D model descriptions.

Shake is also used for video post-production, but in this field Discreet Logic's Inferno is most popular.
