Something to Write Home About is an emo album by American band the Get-Up Kids, released on September 21, 1999 (see 1999 in music). Often considered a classic of the emocore genre, Something to Write Home About is grim, introspective and cathartic. The album's swift rhythms, melodious riffs and tortured vocals did not translate into chart sales, peaking at #31 on Billboardss Heatseekers 200 albums chart (North America). Something to Write Home About is the first Get-Up Kids album to include keyboards, here played by James Dewee.

The title refers to a cliche that a mediocre object or idea is "nothing write home about", though it may be serviceable.

After The Get-Up Kids' previous album, Four Minute Mile, brought major label offers, the band decided to stick with an indie label. Something to Write Home About is, however, very radio-oriented, with catchy choruses and hooks.
