Sonic Drive-In is an American fast-food restaurant chain that attempts to recreate the famous drive-in diners of the 1950s, complete with carhops who often wear roller skates. Its memorable television ad campaign of the 1990s features 1950s throwback Frankie Avalon. Some of the restaurants' fare includes the popper and various frozen treats. In addition, the drive-ins are often a social center for teenagers in rural areas.
