He is the winner of 3 Stanley Cups, one Conn Smythe Trophy (1998), and has been captain of his team longer than any other player in National Hockey League history. Yzerman was born in Cranbrook, British Columbia, Canada. He was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings in 1983 and has remained there ever since.
