Around the shopping mall, many trendy strip malls, eateries, and other sorts of entertainment exist in the area, including Houston's F.A.O. Schwarz. Some upscale neigborhoods are centered around uptown. Another magnet in this area is the Williams Tower, which was built in 1983 as the Transco Tower. Some perceive it to be the tallest in Houston because it is not part of downtown. Therefore, it is not easy to compare it in the visual mind with the buildings downtown.
