Wilhelm Busch (Wiedensahl, April 15 1832; Mechtshausen, January 9 1908) was a German painter and poet who was known for his picture stories.
His Max and Moritz is regarded as the precursor of the modern comic strip, and is considered the inspiration for The Katzenjammer Kids.
