World-around is a term coined by Buckminster Fuller to replace worldwide. The current scientific view is that the earth is roughly a spheroid, so wide has no meaning when applied to the earth's surface. It has area and encloses a volume, but has no width. Fuller held that unthinking use of obsolete scientific ideas detracts from and misleads intuition. Sunsight and sunclipse are other neologisms that Fuller coined to replace sunrise and sunset in order to overturn the geocentric bias of most pre-Copernican celestial mechanics.
